In 1935, the Wapato Nisei from Washington State led the powerhouse Giants 5-1 till the Tokyo team made a comeback and won 6-5. The Tokyo team was led by japan Hall of Famers Eiiji Sawamura, Victor Starfin, Hisanori Karita and Shigeru Mizuhara. They barnstormed throughout the nation dominating most semi-pro and Pacific Coast League teams.
